About Devin

Devin lives in South Royalton, serves on the Royalton Conservation Commission, and plays trumpet in the Royalton Town Band. He graduated from Vermont Law and Graduate School in 2025 with a law degree and a Master's in policy. Devin recently opened the Law Office of Devin G. Brennan in Royalton.

Before Vermont Law, Devin earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Philosophy from Central Michigan University. Devin may not have been born in Vermont, but he plans to live in Vermont the rest of his life.

The Windsor-Orange-1 District covers the town Devin calls home, Royalton, as well as Tunbridge. He's running in the Democratic primary on August 11, 2026. The general election will follow on November 3, 2026.

Fundamental Principles
Justice, Moderation, Temperance, Industry & Frugality
Vermont's Constitution states, "[F]requent recurrence to fundamental principles, and a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, industry, and frugality, are absolutely necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty, and keep government free; the people ought, therefore to pay particular attention to these points, in the choice of officers and representatives . . . ."— Vt. Const. Ch. I, Art. 18
Justice
Justice involves the application of law and standards of rightness to specific circumstances. My training as an attorney, J.D., Master's in policy, and Bachelor of Science in Philosophy equip me to understand and apply those standards.
I strive to firmly adhere to justice.
Moderation
Moderation involves the mean between extremes. Like Aristotle's virtues, moderation offers a path away from excess and deficiency, toward balanced judgment.

Temperance
Temperance involves restrained self-indulgence and limited gratification of one's appetites or passions. As a vegan for nearly a decade and someone who avoids drugs and, generally, alcohol, I appreciate exercising self-control as a matter of principle.

Industry
Industry involves steady, energetic effort toward some end. From my B.S. in Philosophy with Honors, to starting the first National Audubon Society student chapter at a law school, to opening my own practice, serving on the Royalton Conservation Commission, and meeting constituents door-to-door, I try to put that energy to work.

Frugality
Frugality involves careful and efficient management of resources. Studying logic exposed me to the concept of "all and only"; an exactness. In limited-resource situations, one can achieve so much and only so much. One can live and thrive within one's means.
